About Me
When it comes to education, I understand feeling overwhelmed and not knowing which way to turn.
Years ago, my daughter lost her love of learning and was on the road to becoming clinically depressed. When that happened, my focus shifted to helping her bring back that spark in her eye and the excitement she felt when learning something new.
It is difficult to watch this happen to your child, but so rewarding when that spark returns. Since then, I’ve helped countless children and their families find a joyful, peaceful, and fulfilling educational path.

About Me as a Professional
Kirsten L. Stein, Ed.D. is known for her passion for teaching. This passion inspired her to earn her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and her reason for founding Athena’s Advanced Academy & Athena’s Homeschool Academy.
For over three decades, Dr. Kirsten has been involved in the field of education. After receiving her B.S. in Education, Dr. Kirsten taught in the public school system and went on to earn her M.S. in Education degree with a focus on team building. She spearheaded the school district’s involvement in inclusion practices and the use of paraprofessionals in the classroom.
Dr. Kirsten Stein then shifted her focus from public school to homeschooling her two gifted children and online education. From there, she created Athena’s Advanced Academy & Athena’s Homeschool Academy. As C.E.O. and instructor at Athena’s Advanced Academy & Athena’s Homeschool Academy, Dr. Kirsten Stein is passionate about bringing people together to meet the educational needs of learners while creating a supportive community environment.
On an individual basis & with parental help, Dr. Kirsten helps kids to regain and retain their love of learning through educational success coaching so they can thrive!
